The short version
Everything runs on your device. Photos, scan text and results never leave your iPhone. We have no servers, no accounts and no advertising. We cannot see what you scan.
What stays on your device
- Camera images are processed in memory for text recognition and are not stored.
- Scan results and history are stored only in the app's local database on your device.
- Diet profiles (names and rules you enter) are stored only on your device.
- AI classification uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models — no ingredient data is sent to any server.
What we collect
We collect a minimal set of anonymous usage signals (for example: "a scan was completed", "the paywall was shown") through TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service. These signals contain no personal data, no scan content, no identifiers linked to you, and cannot be used to track you across apps. This is declared as "Data Not Linked to You" on our App Store privacy label.
Purchases
Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed by Apple. To validate purchases we use RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous app-generated identifier and purchase receipts — never your name, email or scan data.
Tracking
None. No ads, no cross-app tracking, no data selling. The app contains no third-party advertising SDKs.
Children
TrueHalal does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
